Colonel Jarvis served with the 3rd County of London Imperial Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) and saw action across some of the most defining conflicts of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, including the Matabele Rebellion, the Boer War, and the Gallipoli Campaign during the First World War. This portrait, dated 1909 and bearing his signature in the lower left, offers a rare and personal connection to a seasoned officer whose career spanned pivotal moments in British military history.

The photograph itself is beautifully presented, mounted within a period matte featuring an ornate gold gilt border that enhances the warm sepia tones of the image.
