A stunning 3-piece antique Hand Painted Nippon serving set bearing the green M in Wreath backstamp — Morimura Brothers mark … Read more A stunning 3-piece antique Hand Painted Nippon serving set bearing the green M in Wreath backstamp — Morimura Brothers mark used exclusively between 1910 and 1921, making this set over 100 years old.

The set consists of one large oval handled serving tray and two smaller matching handled dishes — all decorated en suite with the same hand painted design throughout. The cobalt blue border carries heavy gold overlay scrollwork with classical motifs, framing a central hand painted scenic landscape scene depicting trees and atmospheric depth rendered with visible, confident brushwork.

Cobalt blue with heavy gold overlay is the most desirable and collectible Nippon decoration combination. Matched sets in this style are increasingly difficult to find intact — this set has survived over a century together.
Condition: Excellent antique condition. Gold fully intact on both small dishes and 80% of portions of large tray. Minor gold wear to lower border of large tray only — consistent with age and century of use, does not affect display. No chips, cracks, or crazing on any piece.
