Ancient Khmer's most venerated icon is the Buddha seated on the throne-like coils of Muchalinda. This superbly cast bronze is seated in meditation on a coiled naga. He is uncrowned and clothed in open robe with the right shoulder bared. This signifies that he is the historical Buddha not transcendental. This piece was found near Pimai. The bronze has a beautiful teal patina thoughout.
