The slant-front is centered with a delicate floral marquetry oval, echoed at the corners and framed by fine string inlay. Opening to reveal a richly appointed interior, the desk features a beautifully arranged fitted gallery with small drawers, pigeonholes, and a central cupboard, all crafted in warm, richly patinated wood.

Below, four graduated drawers retain their original locks and are adorned with matching period-style brasses and escutcheons. The case is raised on classic bracket feet, grounding the piece with a balanced, architectural presence. A later Victorian lock has been added to the fall front, consistent with the desk’s long history of use.
