The composition departs from the steadfast formalism of Mohajeran examples, introducing a more open field with increased neutral spacing and a lighter, more exploratory hand. The wool displays excellent luster, and the coloration remains true to its original state, untouched by the later repainting often seen in Sarouks of this lineage. Subtle, speckled abrash moves playfully across the field, adding depth and nuance, and suggesting a moment of quiet experimentation within an otherwise disciplined weaving tradition. Colors and shades include: Dusty rose, dark navy blue, terra cotta, brick red, sapphire blue, beige, silver, and more. Condition notes: Areas of pile and knot heads. Most of the original side cord selvages are intact or restored. Fully secured sides and ends. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Persian Sarouk rug made in Persia circa 1930's vintage. Size measures 4'3" x 6'7". See less
