This unique ceiling light was used from the early days of home electrification until the 1950s and 60s. It was typically hung above a table and could be raised or lowered as needed: lowered for eating or writing, and raised for general lighting.

The porcelain counterweight is adjusted to the weight of the shade by adding more or less metal filings or shavings inside.

Complete sets, especially with their ceiling mount and pulley, are increasingly rare.

In good vintage condition.
