This extremely rare and valuable crucifix, expertly preserved within its original case, represents a superb and unobtainable testimony to the high religious craftsmanship of the 1930s.

Subject and Style: The sober and solemn composition features a wooden cross finished in white lacquer with elegantly shaped finials and an extensive gilded halo, upon which rests the sculpture of Christ. The ensemble is enclosed in an imposing mixtilinear frame and dramatically enhanced by a deep, soft, dark green velvet background.

Material and Finish: The thick and massive case (scarabattolo) is crafted of solid wood, embellished with a rich, deep gold leaf finish along the entire curved outer frame. The front is protected by its original antique, custom-shaped glass, while the back is meticulously enclosed by a solid wooden canvas panel, complete with a hook for wall mounting.
