the rectangular frame with rounded upper corners is characteristic of french production from the period 1830-1870. The edge of the mirror is bordered by a row of raised beads (rosary); the frame itself features finely engraved floral motifs. The recently restored gold leaf gilding reveals the underlying red and orange pigments in places, demonstrating adherence to traditional techniques. The antique glass, likely mercury-backed, displays a peripheral patina with slight oxidation, consistent with its age. The solid wood back with period planks confirms its original french manufacture.
