Originates from Shandong, in eastern China, from the early 20th century, where local fir was worked using mortise-and-tenon joinery without nails, with framed-panel fronts.In the living rooms and bedrooms of Shandong in the early 20th century, console tables with drawers served for discreet storage and as a support beneath a mirror or a hung painting. They held everyday objects — writing, dressing, tea — and articulated a complete wall visually. Their typology belongs to the provincial tradition of eastern China.Built in Shandong solid fir using traditional carpentry without nails. The front articulates three upper drawers with wrought iron ring pulls, over a lower apron of framed panels. The four legs, square in section with a slight downward taper, end in a foot. The carpentry preserves the imprint of provincial eastern furniture.It fits naturally in entrances, contemporary living rooms or bedrooms. It works as an entrance console, a dressing table or a support beneath a mirror. Its height and three-drawer front make it useful for everyday storage without giving up visual presence.
