Magnificent set of six Louis-Philippe chairs in solid walnut, dating from around 1840-1860. These chairs combine the understated elegance of the Louis-Philippe style with the comfort of traditional caning. The backrest features the characteristic curved lines of the period, with an openwork motif and finely crafted molded stretchers.
Sturdily constructed in solid walnut with a caned seat of natural woven straw, at a comfortable height of 45 cm. The turned legs and interlocking frame ensure proven sturdiness. The caning provides lightness and breathability, typical of 19th-century bourgeois furniture.
The warm, honey-brown patina of the walnut testifies to the authenticity and history of these pieces. The set is in good condition and perfect for a timelessly classic dining room or a vintage decorating project.
