Its scalloped frame with sinuous and supple curves is an invitation to rococo refinement: generous scrolls, chiseled acanthus leaves, shells, and finely hand-carved volutes compose an ensemble of great ornamental richness. The particularly elaborate pediment is crowned with a rolled parchment element, a true signature of the louis xv style in all its decorative whimsy.
