The tabletop has rounded corners, a sober profile and a warm, timeworn patina that gives the piece a quiet yet strong presence.

Dimensions: height 27 cm, width 51.5 cm, depth 29 cm.

The construction is honest and straightforward, with two side supports and angled braces beneath the top. A beautiful detail is the hand-painted name on the inside of one of the supports, most likely from a former owner. These traces give the table extra character and make the object feel more personal.

This type of low writing table fits beautifully within the Japanese mingei tradition and can be dated to the late Taishō to early Shōwa period. It works wonderfully as a small display for ceramics, ikebana, books or a special object, but also stands beautifully on its own as a pure and organic wabi-sabi interior accent.

Condition: beautiful vintage condition with visible signs of use, discoloration and patina consistent with age and use; sturdy, functional and decoratively strong. See less
