The glass is supported by a fluted brass base and wall support.
"reticello is an italian decorative glass blowing technique, developed by the venini bellows factory in murano. This is the fusion of two reed bubbles (one inside the other) in which the straight reeds have been twisted in opposite directions. Once joined, the oppositely twisted pipes intersect, creating a net-like design. These stunning murano glass sconces were designed by paolo venini for venini. A protagonist of twentieth-century murano glass, paolo venini (1895–1959), with his passionate activity, carried out over the course of almost forty years, contributed significantly to the vitality of the art of fire, achieving extraordinary results also recognized internationally.
