The shaped top rails with reeded detail lead down to finely pierced splat backs centred with carved shells and foliate decoration, a design strongly associated with Irish craftsmanship of the period.
The chairs stand on elegant cabriole legs terminating in well defined ball and claw feet, a classic sign of quality and skilled carving. The carvers have generous shaped arms with a smooth flowing line, designed for comfort at the head of the table while still maintaining the refined look of the set.
The drop-in seats are upholstered in a smart neutral striped fabric which works well in both traditional and modern interiors. Condition report
Very good antique condition with a rich deep colour to the mahogany. Minor age related marks as expected. Solid and sturdy throughout. The new upholstery is clean and ready for use.
