This one of a kind Diva Zappa (Frank Zappa's youngest daughter) photograph on Board was sold at Julien's Auction "The Auction House to the Stars" on November 4th 2016 and purchased by a family member. I am now selling their estate.
This is a Jellyfish photograph that she mounted on board in 1979 and gave to her father either just before or after Frank had a Jellyfish named after him. Was a part of the entire Zappa estate that was sold at the auction in 2016.
The board measures 16" x 20". Unfortunately it was not store properly and there are a few markings that are noted in the included pictures. The back of the board still has the #202 auction tag attached.
I have also included the Zappa catalog from the auction. This has seen some water damage as well as corners folded for reference while at the auction and some peeling of pages. If you are a Zappa fan, this is for you as there are so many pictures of the home before all the items were sold.
Diva Zappa, daughter of Frank Zappa, is an artist and knitwear designer who has incorporated jellyfish into her experimental art and photography.
Key Details regarding Phialella zappai (Frank Zappa's Jellyfish):
Discovery: The jellyfish was discovered by Italian scientist Ferdinando "Nando" Boero, who was a fan of Frank Zappa and wanted to honor him.
