Louis XVI style caned office chair, 20th century, in mahogany-brown stained wood.
The backrest is basket-shaped (barrel-shaped) and composed of three caned panels separated by vertical supports. The armrests feature carved scrolls. The tapered and fluted legs, typical of the Louis XVI style, rest on small sabots. The curved apron is adorned with carved rosettes at the corners and a fine molding. The caned seat is topped with a removable cushion in blue-green linen.
The wood has a uniform antique patina. There is visible wear on the caning of the seat (concealed under the cushion) and some marks on the apron. The caning of the backrest and apron is in good overall condition, according to the seller. A removable cushion is included. No restoration work has been reported; routine cleaning is recommended.
