:
Tyrolean painted wardrobe made of fir wood, datable to around 1820.
The structure features a rectangular body with chamfered edges, resting on turned front and rear feet, with a slightly projecting base and a molded upper cornice, also projecting beyond the sides.
The front is articulated by two hinged doors, each divided into framed panels. Within the panels are painted stylized floral compositions emerging from decorative vases, arranged in a symmetrical and vertical scheme. The motifs, executed in tempera, employ a traditional palette with a light blue background, red and green frames, and polychrome details in the floral elements. The panel frames and decorative bands display undulating and phytomorphic motifs, drawn with a continuous and regular line.
The hardware is in wrought iron: the hinges are visible and fixed directly onto the doors, while the internal lock features a shaped backplate and original mechanism, visible in the detailed images.
The sides are left visible and decorated with a faux-grained finish, achieved through painting that simulates the natural wood grain. The lateral decoration is framed by painted bands that echo the colors and motifs of the front, creating visual continuity.
The interior is organized as a single compartment and can be customized according to its intended use.
Restoration work carried out on all our furniture:
– Structural restoration: reintegration of small missing parts, closure of any cracks on the back panel, consolidation of deteriorated areas, inspection and repair of the hardware.
– Thorough anti-woodworm treatment.
– Cleaning and sanitization of the interior.
– External finish with natural beeswax.
– Internal finish with shellac, a natural alcohol-based varnish.
