Fine leather bindings - The Works of The Reverend John Newton (1725 - 1807).
Rector of the United Parishes of St. Mary Woolnoth and St. Mary Woolchurch, London. From the last London edition, published by direction of his executors. In six volumes. New York: Printed and published by Daniel Fanshaw, No. 20 Slote-Lane, 1821.
Good condition - wear and loss to bindings, scattered foxing. Each volume measures 8 7/8" x 5 5/8" x 2"; the set of six books stacked together occupy 10 3/4" of shelf space.
Reverend John Newton (1725–1807) was an English Anglican clergyman, abolitionist and author of the world-renowned hymn "Amazing Grace".
