A beautifully curated set of four early 19th-century French botanical engravings—professionally framed and ready to create an instant, high-impact gallery wall.
This listing is for a set of four (4) individually framed botanical engravings.
A rare and highly decorative group of early 19th-century French botanical engravings from Jean-Theodore Descourtilz’s celebrated work Flore Médicale des Antilles (Medical Flora of the West Indies), published circa 1830. These engravings are renowned for their scientific accuracy and artistic beauty, capturing the rich botanical diversity of the Caribbean during the golden age of natural history illustration.
Each authentic antique engraving features beautifully preserved hand-applied color and delicate linework characteristic of the period. The sheets have developed a warm, age-appropriate patina that enhances their depth, character, and authenticity.
Of particular interest, the engravings were historically mounted to a heavier khaki-toned backing with added calligraphy—an intriguing detail that adds both visual interest and a layer of historical narrative.
Each piece is professionally presented in a custom frame with a handcrafted mat of our own design and printed in our in-house workroom. The tailored matting and refined framing elevate the artwork, making the set ready to hang and ideal for creating a cohesive gallery wall or statement installation.
An exceptional set for collectors, designers, or anyone drawn to antique botanical art—perfect for adding timeless, nature-inspired elegance to both classic and contemporary interiors.
