Vienna Secession bentwood plant stand, model 9582, attributed to Otto Wagner and produced by Gebrüder Thonet, Vienna, circa 1905.
This model is documented in early Thonet catalogues (circa 1904–1907) and is recorded in period and auction references, including examples published by Dorotheum, Vienna, where it is associated with the Otto Wagner circle and Marcel Kammerer.
The design reflects the geometric clarity and refined proportions characteristic of early Secessionist furniture, combining elegantly curved bentwood elements with restrained brass stretchers. The construction demonstrates the high level of craftsmanship typical of Thonet’s Vienna production at the turn of the century.
The piece is unmarked, as is consistent with early Thonet manufacture. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
