Marble Brass Lacquered Aluminum

This table lamp was produced by Stilnovo in the 1950s. It has a marble base and two crossing diagonal brass stems. Each stem supports a painted aluminum shade. One shade is pastel yellow, the other pastel green. The base is circular and polished. The brass stems are cylindrical and rise from the base at a slight angle. The shades are conical and attached with small visible fasteners. The materials include solid marble, brass, and thin-gauge aluminum with a matte painted finish. The paint is original and shows uniform application. The lamp was produced in Italy using mid-century industrial techniques. The design follows functional and geometric principles typical of the period. All elements are original to the piece.Marked at green shade with Stilnovo manufacturers label.
