The surfaces spread at different heights and angles, raw and fractured where the timber split naturally, flat and resolved where the hand worked it into function. The tension between those two states is what gives the piece its character. The deep ebonized finish pulls everything into a single dark mass, and under it the wood reveals deep checking, bold grain, and the kind of surface complexity that only comes from working with timber at scale. It sits low and spreads wide, commanding the floor rather than sitting on it. For interiors that are ready for something genuinely uncompromising.
