The original lampshade was missing and replaced with one of the same size from a midgard r2. The lamp is stamped “triplex pendel / made in sweden / asea” on the chrome-plated joint and belongs to the triplex series, which the swedish inventor johan petter johansson developed from 1919 onwards and which was used in numerous workshops, factories and architectural offices in scandinavia. The design combines a long, double-jointed arm made of lacquered and chrome-plated steel with a solid cast iron clamp base, allowing the lamp to be flexibly attached to table edges, shelves, or wall brackets and used as a wall, table, or task lamp – similar to the multifunctional "triplex pendant" designs found in auction catalogs and museum collections. The hemispherical aluminum shade provides focused, largely glare-free task lighting and can be precisely adjusted thanks to the ball joint, making the lamp suitable for use as an architect's lamp, studio light, or reading lamp in industrial and modern interiors.
