A classic French-style orange tree crate, crafted from painted oak.
The structure rests on four square uprights topped with turned finials shaped like acorns, characteristic of traditional Versailles orange tree crates. The four sides are clad with panels of interlocking vertical slats, framed by horizontal crossbars. The base is slatted to ensure drainage. The paint, a beige hue with off-grey highlights, shows significant flaking and wear, revealing the wood in several places. This patina is consistent with the age of the piece.
