in the homes of central europe at the turn of the twentieth century, tall two-door wardrobes were practical solutions for vertical spaces, capitalising on the high ceilings typical of the era. They were used in bedrooms to store clothing and textiles, in expanded kitchens for pantry storage, or in dressing rooms of principal homes. The exceptional height — nearly 1.83 metres — provided significant storage capacity without occupying floor space. Pine was the local timber of choice for its availability and noble ageing.
