Renato Di Bosso Renato Righetti (Verona, 1905 - Negrar, 1982) "Paratrooper" Oil on Board cm. 50 x 70 1940 Beautiful and colorful futurist work ,from which a Xylograph was also taken The work is from 1940 needs an export certificate, which will be obtained in about 30 days Theme of paratroopers in the second futurism In the late 1930s, Tullio Crali, began a series of paintings on the theme of the skydiver, caught at various moments of the jump (exiting the plane, opening the parachute, etc.). Crali certainly produced the most iconographic work now owned by the Guggenheim Museum NY This did not leave Di Bosso indifferent, who in turn took an interest in the subject and also produced some works that document the stages of the launch. In the 1988 exhibition on Di Bosso at Fonte d'Abisso Gallery, Modena, a work is published that proves to be in perfect synchronicity, including chromaticity, with the one documented here. He also produced two other works on this theme still on display in Verona at the Achille Forti Gallery of Modern Art . Xylographs were then made of exactly this 'work . Di Bosso was one of the most representative of the futurists of the 1930s, and, with Ambrosi and Verossì, the leader of the Veronese group, among the most active and valuable of the period. The name comes from the boxwood he used early in his career, as he was also a sculptor, and the appellation Di Bosso was therefore superimposed by Marinetti on his real surname (Righetti). This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
