Van kempen & zonen (sons). The shape is oval with angular handles. The set is made and hallmarked dutch silver with 835/000 purity of silver. The milk jug was made and dated in 1918, at the end of world war i. The handle is made of bakelite, possibly due to a shortage of wood. The sugar bowl and the chocolate pot are dated 1919. The chocolate pot has a walnut handle and knob. The sugar bowl has a lid with a knob. The hallmarks are the dutch "lion 2" (835/000), the minerva head with letter c (assayer's mark) for the hague, the year letters i and j for 1918 and 1919. The master sign for fa. J.m. Van kempen & zonen (sons) (used 1858-1924) voorschoten. The chocolate pot measures 15 cm high, 15 cm wide and 8.5 cm deep. The total weight of the set is 487 grams. See less
