Model fk84 desk chair by jørgen kastholm and preben fabricius, denmark, 1960s. Produced by kill international, this model is part of the refined fk series, known for its architectural clarity and balanced proportions. The chair is built around a sculptural three-star base in steel, fitted with original ball castors, supporting a central column that gives the seat a light, almost floating appearance. The angular arm construction in chromed steel is characteristic for the model, with leather-wrapped armrests that integrate seamlessly into the frame. Seat and back are upholstered in thick, cognac brown leather with button detailing. The leather shows a strong, natural patina with visible wear, creasing, such as a tear at the front and a small hole in the seating. As well as four missing buttons. Therefore reupholstery is advised or a leather restoration. The chair has a warm and authentic character. The slightly reclined position and generous seat depth place it somewhere between a desk chair and a lounge chair, which is exactly where this model becomes interesting. The fk84 stands out for its combination of strict modernist lines and comfort — a recurring theme in the work of kastholm and fabricius. In good vintage condition with clear signs of use to the leather, including wear to the front edge and surface marks throughout. The structure is solid and the steel frame remains in good condition with light wear consistent with age. A rare and well-balanced example of danish modern office seating, especially appealing in this original, worn leather. this piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. official proof of authenticity,
