Circa 1970's Curtis Jeré Brass Kinetic Art sculpture measuring approx. 29" x 55". Mid-century modern pieces byJeré often feature components which were designed to move by breeze or touch, using elements such as the bundles of brass wires on this piece which can produce sound and motion.

Excellent+ condition, the metalwork retains the beautiful original surfaces and patina, and is without oxidation- it was never placed outdoors in it's 50 years. The original hanging hardware are present as shown, the piece can be displayed vertical or horizontal. A signature wasn't found on the piece, however many Jeré works were unsigned or the signatures worn. Having sold several Jere kinetic sculptures previously, it was noted that the construction and attention to detail are gallery quality and consistent with Jeré craftsmanship and design

Jeré works were made and marketed by the corporation Artisan House. The company was founded in 1963 by Jerry Fels and is brother-in-law Curtis Freiler. Curtis Jere is a compound name of the two men, joining their names to create the C. Jeré signature. Freiler was the production chief and Fels was head of design. Their goal was to produce “gallery-quality art for the masses”. See less
