This is an antique Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) master berry serving bowl made by the Indiana Glass Company of Dunkirk, Indiana, in their collectible Pattern No. 157. Known to collectors as "Bird and Strawberry" (also called Bluebird, Flying Bird and Strawberry, or Strawberry and Bird). Produced circa 1910-1920 and long discontinued, this bowl is over 100 years old. It features oval intaglio medallions with birds in flight, hobstar and diamond field pressing throughout, and a classic sawtooth scalloped rim with a concentric star pattern on the base. Originally used as the centerpiece of a Victorian table berry set for serving fresh fruit, it makes a stunning decorative bowl, candy dish, or centerpiece today.
A beautiful piece for any EAPG, pressed glass, Victorian antique, or glass antique collector.
