The surface has expressive scraped and palette-knife-like texture, giving the figure a quiet, almost sculptural presence against the light tonal ground.

Signed vertically SANDRIK at the lower left of the image. The lower margin is hand-inscribed in French with a reference to Cherubini’s “Requiem en do mineur (Agnus Dei)” — Requiem in C minor — and dated August 28, 2010. Additional handwritten notes appear along the lower margin, including a location reference to Bastide Blanche, and the work is marked A V at lower right.

A restrained, elegant contemporary French figurative work with strong decorative presence and a subtle musical/liturgical reference. See less
