Architectural large-scale postmodern dining table by Serenissimo, Italy, 1987, accompanied by original manufacturer catalog/tear sheets confirming purchase era and construction details.
The table features four large-diameter cylindrical metal columns finished in traditional Venetian stucco using an encaustic technique, interconnected by a natural-finish non-rust metal structural framework and supporting a substantial semi-opalescent treated plate glass top. The softly luminous glass surface creates a floating visual effect while subtly diffusing reflections—one of the signature material gestures of refined late-1980s Italian architectural furniture design.
At 118 inches long, the table comfortably seats ten and functions as a true architectural centerpiece suitable for large-scale residential interiors, gallery-style dining spaces, or designer-led environments.
The restrained geometry and tonal finish place the piece at the intersection of Memphis-era experimentation and the more disciplined Milanese architectural modernism emerging at the end of the decade.
Includes original 1987 Serenissimo tear sheet documentation confirming materials and construction. It is unsigned, as was typical for production in this time frame.
Part of a documented late-1980s interior acquisition that included additional modernist and Italian design pieces available separately. Seller open to consideration for combined purchase with other listed pieces from the same collection.
