Sommerfeld, for a long time President of the Washington Art Association, has had one-man shows at the New Britain Museum and the Mattatuck Museum. His work is shown at the FAR Gallery in New York City. He has exhibited several times in the Pennsylvania Academy of Art's annual show, also several times at Pittsburgh's Carnegie Institute. He has shown at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Hartford Athaneum where he has twice been awarded prizes. Sommerfeld studied at the Art Students League. Signed with full signature lower right. Measures 16 3/4" x 14 1/4" overall. See less
