There is little historical information about the artist. This work could possibly be attributed to PATRICIA ANN (MASON) TAYLOR (1939-2016). She was born in Springfield Missouri, and this is where the painting was acquired from a local antique store. Patâs aptitude for drawing and painting was evident from childhood, but it wasnât until her thirties that Pat began to pursue art in earnest. She attended the New Orleans Academy of Fine Art, and over the next several decades established herself as an expressionistic visual artist. Patâs greatest desire was to glorify God by revealing His beauty and character on canvas. In her most treasured series, Pat created one hundred works of art depicting the entirety of the Biblical book of Revelation. In addition to her Biblical artwork, she was busy teaching the principals of form and color to neighborhood children, designing personalized cards for friends, and contributing paintings to charitable causes. Pat freely shared her time and talent with those around her. The building depicted in this painting is unknown and we cannot fully attribute this painting so therefore are selling as a Folk Art piece. Information about Patricia Taylor obtained from her obituary on Shadel's Colonial Chapel. If anyone would know further information on this piece, we would love to know more about this mystery piece.
