An 18th century Sevres plate in the pattern purchased personally by President George Washington from the Count de Moustier in 1790, used at the first Executive Residences in New York and Philadelphia and brought home to Mount Vernon at the end of Washington's second term. Now on display at Mount Vernon, The White House and the Smithsonian. See Margaret Klapthor's "Official White House China" published by Abrams, 1999 and Susan Detweiler's "George Washington's Chinaware" also Abrams, 1982.
Quatrefoil shape. Measures 10 1/4" long. Excellent condition.
