The body is adorned … Read more A striking mid-century Japanese Kutani porcelain table lamp with a hexagonal form and exceptional hand-painted decoration. The body is adorned with an all-over pattern of chrysanthemums in sage green and gold against a white ground — a classic ao-Kutani palette that is both refined and eye-catching.

Two panels features delicate reticulated (pierced lattice) work, a technically demanding technique that adds lightness and sophistication to the form. The overglaze enamel decoration is hand-painted with confident, fluid brushwork throughout.

Marked on the base with the circular Fujita trade mark reading "Kutani / Made in Japan" — Fujita was a well-known Kutani export house. Mounted on a wooden base with brass hardware. Shade not included.
