A very attractive painting by the celebrated Italian artist Michele Federico. His name pre-fixed with Cavalier, which is an honor bestowed by the Italian government, ostensibly a Knighthood.
The painting depicts a slightly stormy scene, with waves crashing on the rocks. The painting is signed lower right "Mich. Federico Capri", housed in a good quality gilded frame.
Condition is excellent, this very attractive Italian seascape painting is ready to grace your wall.

Born on the Isle of Capri, Italy November 13, 1884. Federico was a student of Antonio Lala and specialized in seascapes and scenes of Capri. His first exhibition was at the Promatrice di Napoli in 1911. Federico exhibited extensively in Milan, Turin, Genoa and at the Societa Amatori e Caltori di Belle Arti di Roma, Rome. In addition, he participated in the Paris Salon, 1914; Pan Pacific International Exposition, San Francisco, 1915; Italian Exposition, Buenos Aires, 1923; First Biennale, Naples.
The artist's work is highly sought after and is housed in prominent public galleries and private collections. See less
