A contemporary still life with a playful shift in focus, Blue Hyacinth Flowers No. 1 centers on a large, ivory-toned vessel, allowing the vase's form to take precedence as an abundance of blooms spills just beyond the frame. The cropped composition introduces a slightly whimsical perspective, as if the arrangement extends upward and outward, beyond what’s visible.
Clusters of blue hyacinth flowers rise in vertical groupings, their layered petals rendered in tonal blues and violets. Loose, greenery adds contrast, while the saturated yet softened palette keeps the composition feeling fresh rather than overly bright.
The vase itself carries a strong presence—its rounded, pedestal form and delicate linear detailing evoke a hand-crafted, pottery-like object. Its soft ivory tone grounds the composition, providing a quiet counterbalance to the more expressive treatment of the florals above.
This piece blends traditional still life with a modern, cropped viewpoint and a cool palette—well-suited for interiors that favor sculptural forms, softness, and a collected aesthetic.
