The lower section opens … Read more An important, richly ornamented two-part walnut buffet from the Renaissance/17th century, showcasing remarkable marquetry and carving.

The lower section opens with three doors on the front, each decorated with marquetry panels featuring stylized plant motifs and scrolls, framed by canted uprights and pilasters. The crossbars are adorned with finely drawn decorative friezes, while the whole rests on turned feet in the form of flattened balls.

The upper section, set back from the front, features a glass-fronted display cabinet framed by engaged columns and surmounted by a wide, molded entablature with carved decoration. On either side, lateral elements reinforce the architectural composition of this imposing piece.

Exquisite craftsmanship, with a play of contrasting veneers highlighting the decoration and the depth of the wood. The original hardware is present.

17th-century work, in the Renaissance style.
