Turin, 1930s origin turin period 1930s author pietro spertini (active in turin in the 1930s) was an italian modeller and ceramist who collaborated with the prestigious lenci factory in turin. He worked as a modeller for mass production, specialising above all in religious figures cast in polychrome glazed ceramic. He is particularly known for having modelled various versions of the madonna, including the madonna with a flowered cloak and other holy water stoups or marian busts, often signed pietro spertini on the back or base and bearing the lenci mark with the date (circa 1934-1937). His works are distinguished by the elegance of the modelling, the refinement of the matt or glossy glazes and the art deco taste typical of lenci production in the 1930s.
