two-tier louis seize chest of drawers on pointed legs in an exceptionally delicate format.

the conically tapering legs form the pilaster strips as they extend upwards. The entire component is also known as a "gallery" and bears the fluting typical of the period.
a key feature of the gallery design is that the aforementioned vertical uprights serve as supporting elements for the entire piece of furniture. They are connected to each other by crosspieces, which form the skirting board and the crosspieces on the front and serve as supports for the solid walnut panelling on the sides. The construction serves to reduce tension in the wood and thus prevents cracking due to changing humidity.

the drawer fronts are each simply veneered and decorated with winding geometric band inlays. The plain veneered panels are framed by a wide frame with a diagonal and symmetrical grain pattern.
the bronze louis seize fittings provide a beautiful contrast to the plain grained wood. The design of the drawer fronts can also be found on the top of the cabinet.

both drawers have the old and original box locks, and an original key is also present.

condition:
refurbished piece of furniture with patina preserved. The wood has been cleaned and sealed with a shellac polish. All traces of age were deliberately preserved and conserved.
