An English George III demilune table featuring a solid figured mahogany top with satinwood pilasters and banding, framed by string inlay.
The table opens on brass hinges and is supported by a single flying leg. It is built using traditional block-rail construction to form the curved apron. The table stands on four simple tapered solid mahogany legs with stringing inlay and mahogany cuffs.
Recently meticulously restored and refinished with a traditional shellac French polish, the table shows evidence of historical repairs—including leg stabilization and hinge-area work—reflecting long domestic use. Now structurally sound, fully functional, and ready for continued use.
