Ashlynn Browning’s abstract works are a powerful exploration of psychological narrative through an intuitive, layered painting process. By merging geometric precision with organic, fluid forms, Browning creates 'portals' into the canvas that suggest hidden depths and concealed histories. Her work is defined by the tension between bold color and muted tones, and the architectural weight of her compositions often serves as a metaphor for the human psyche—at once vulnerable and headstrong.

A recipient of a Joan Mitchell Foundation grant, Browning has been featured multiple times in New American Paintings and has exhibited extensively in major US institutions. Her work offers a sophisticated dialogue between the history of the medium and contemporary abstraction. See less
