This striking late 19th-century Caucasian rug represents a bold example of Kazak village weaving, executed in a classic prayer (mihrab) format. The composition is defined by a strong architectural niche set within a luminous ivory field, a highly desirable feature among both collectors and designers.

The interior of the niche is animated by a series of large-scale geometric and symbolic motifs, including cross-like medallions, stylized rosettes, and primitive anthropomorphic elements. These forms, rendered with confident drawing and generous spacing, reflect the powerful visual language characteristic of Kazak tribal weaving.

The color palette is particularly effective, combining:
