The fountain features a shaped backplate with flowing contours, designed to be wall-mounted.

Originally intended for use as a wall fountain, it now serves equally well as a striking decorative object full of character from the Belle Époque era.

Produced by Longchamp, established in Burgundy in 1832 — one of the early pioneers of French ceramic production — pieces marked terre de fer are known for their durability and refined finish.

The fountain features naturalistic, polychrome floral motifs typical of Longchamp's Art Nouveau production. There is an elegantly painted floral pattern with a distinctive diagonal band of delicate small white blossoms on a blue background.

The floral patterns and diagonal band are characteristic of the Robert Charbonnier period (1880-1912). The design is consistent with the 'Printemps' (Spring) or 'Saxe' series.

The piece remains in good antique condition, with minor wear and patina consistent with its age. There is a small section of the inside rim missing - this is not visible when in place. Please see photographs.
