I believe the tassel was once red also, but has faded over time. It could have held perfume, it could have held liquor, or it could have been to hold a healing tincture.
Without and markings, it’s hard to tell who exactly crafted this beauty. My guess is that it’s an Avon decorative, collectable perfume bottle; but they traditionally have the recognizable Avon stamp embossed into the glass bottom… so it leaves room for many options! Nearly every country has had a trend of packaging things for sale in stylish, collectable glass or crystal bottles. No matter what it held or where it came from, this little glass bottle is stylish and would be a focal point in, & bring a splash of bold color to any space in your home or office!
She stands about 4.5 inches tall and is 3 inches across the bottom. The glass insert closure reminds me of a rook (the little chess piece). Both pieces are well cut, smooth and very heavy for their size. Made with quality glass and stained bold Ruby Red and frosted to create that alluring smoky appeal. See less
