I woke up and found the world had changed. The pandemic took too many loved ones from my family and the lockdowns leave many uncomfortable questions. We are forever changed and this painting is a result of coming out of that experience. The uncomfortable truths and the utter chaos of the time demanded a place to retreat. I created this painting as a meditative sanctuary. It is an oasis of wonderment, a place where one can experience vitality, continuity, and beauty. No amount of rules can remove our ability to see beauty and feel free.

This is a textured canvas. Several layers of pigment with expressive brushstrokes create depth and a very rich visual experience.
