This striking antique solid wood secretary desk by Rockford Chair & Furniture Co. of Rockford, Illinois is a beautiful example of early 20th-century craftsmanship, showcasing richly figured quarter sawn oak with its signature tiger grain pattern. The company operated from 1882 until around 1950, producing quality oak furniture during the early 20th century. The slant-front design opens to reveal storage shelving and a functional writing surface, while the stacked drawers showcase unique original ring pulls and offer practical storage for everyday essentials.
The clean lines and understated hardware reflect strong Arts & Crafts influence, emphasizing quality materials and honest construction. Elevated on slender legs, the piece maintains a light, refined presence while still delivering the durability oak is known for. The warm, golden-brown patina has developed gracefully over time, adding depth and character that only age can provide. Circa 1910's.
The table is in excellent original antique condition with very minimal signs of wear; very minor nicks.
