Impressive vintage wicker and rattan peacock chair or throne. Also known as the Bilibid chair, due to the manufacturing process undertaken by prisoners in Bilibid prison Philippines. Mid sixties the Bilibid chair’s elevated reputation and prominence establishing the peacock chair as an icon of strength and sophistication. The vintage peacock chair has a wonderfully grand shaped fan back with a circular shaped seat and a twist base. The chair has a fine black twine detail decorating the outer edges. This truly iconic chair from the seventies is in really good condition, with all the wicker intact.
