While the circling gestures characteristic of the series continue to enliven the background, spritz iv is additionally structured by a striking vertical and horizontal dynamic. The signature working method—processing the canvas flat from all sides—leads here to a composition in which linear color flows overlap like crossing radio signals.

stylistically, the work is anchored in post-abstraction.
